The "Lady with Beasts"
Terracotta statuette, 20 cm, circa 6000-5500 BC, Çatal Hüyük (Museum of Anatolian Civilizations, Ankara, Turkey).
This woman sits on a throne and leans on two panthers. She gives birth to a child. Some archaeologists see it as a mother goddess, that is to say, a cult of fertility.
