Over etymology of terms Sclav ,Sclaviniae
Translated as Σκλαβηνός Sklabēnós, Σκλαβωμένοι ,
This terms are the loan of ROMAN language
Original is in Latin: Sclavus
Explanations that it is about
"Late and Medieval Latin; from Byzantine Greek Σκλάβος (Sklábos) is very wrong because of its meaning and date of foundation:
Σκλαβηνός,Sclavus ,Sclave became root for words:
Slave at English ,
Sklaven Germanic
Sklabos on Arabic
Sclave at Romanian
Sclave at Greek.
Where all of these terms for Slaves came from ?
-They all came from Sclaviniaes where use to live occupied people.
The Sclavinias were military administrative districts under the administration of the Romans
established on those territories that were conquered by the Roman Armies.
"Sclavinias" are mentioned east of the Rhine and in north Germany and Hungary, as they are also mentioned in Spain, Asia Minor or North Africa. This multi purpose Latin-coined administrative term was regularly used for particular area or group of areas: "Ecclesia Sclavoniæ" included Bosnia and Dalmatia, "S(c)lavonia" in today's Croatia, "Sklavinska" (today renamed Dublinska) in Poland, "Macedonian Sclaviniæ", etc. Even the so-called Germania, until, and long after the foundation of the Holy Empire by Franks and Charlemagne around AD 800. on the maps was "Sclavania"...1
Enclaves ,and enslaved are today's preserved and in use terms at English .
The peoples that were occupied by the Romans and lived in those occupation zones were called Slaves .
That these are purely Roman terms, it is enough to point out the fact, to emphasize that Roman and not some Greek armies conquered the world around the Mediterranean with all of Europe and formed the Sclavinias which became places where slaves were taken.
Historically appeared and stuck over our places when Macedonia had been enslaved from Rome. Macedonians become slaves from 168 B.C.
Terms Sclaviniae as Sclavus have been used and for Macedonia and Macedonians as well like elsewhere from 168 B.C. when Macedonia had been enslaved from Roma .
Today's reflection of this Sclavinia term is term
ENCLAVE.
FACT : There is nothing Greek in Greece
